Adoring Fans!

Last night was the always fun Mona Shores VS Catholic Central varsity football game. Being the double dipper of schools that I am, an internal struggle always takes place on this day. Do I cheer for the school that gave me my oh so important high school diploma, or for the school that gave me so many fond childhood memories? Like I said, I always, and have always cheered for the blue and white!

Last night's game was a bit of a bummer as far as the scoreboard went. However, I adopted a new role as an adoring fan of the fighting Sailors! Laura's boyfriend Erik (Go #51!) is a senior this year. So along with his strapping, identical (not sure if they are indeed identical but they look like the same person!) twin brother, they led the Sailors in their first game of the season. Unfortunately their road did not lead to a victory, but it led them to a well learned lesson and a hunger for the win!

Hopefully the rest of the season will pan out in these boys' favors! I was quite amazed at my parents' reaction to the game. Considering this is the first time, in the history of their daughters' dating careers, that they got to go and cheer someone on in a contact sport. I think they loved it and you will probably be seeing them at every home game cheering on their newest addition! Even Nani made it to the game, beaming with pride for her adopted grandson!

Good luck Erik!

Look Out California!

So this past Monday, my youngest sister Laura embarked on a journey of a lifetime. She picked up everything she owned (and some things that she didn't necessarily own) and flew off into the great blue sky to join The Young Americans in Corona, California. For those of you who do not know who The Young Americans are, they are a traveling, singing, theatrical group that holds performances and workshops for young kids all over the world...We know, a perfect place for our starlet!
We will all miss her terribly in the next two years while she is having the time of her life. We know she will miss us too...Right Laura?!? The only advice we have for you is to keep that beautiful face forward and looking up at all times and we know you will do amazingly well in this endeavour! All our love...

How Was The Food?

On Friday the eighth of August, we held the most ideal wedding two people could possibly wish for. Considering we rushed everything into five weeks, everyone had a somewhat anxious feeling in the approaching days. Something HAD to go wrong. Murphy's Law, It was a given. My soon to be husband, who is usually fairly positive when I feel as if the world is coming to an abrupt end, even had that gut feeling that something was to soon go awry.
However, much to everyone's (mostly mine) suprise, the ceremony and reception went off with out a hitch and it turned into one of the best days of our lives! We didn't get to eat anything considering we were dancing fools all night long, but I heard it was wonderful. Even Janice had a fabulous time which was wonderful to see. And if you were paying close attention, you could even catch a glimpse of Nani on the dance floor once or twice!
Pete and I are so lucky that we had all of our friends and family with us to celebrate such a wonderful day. That night all the little, mundane things in life seemed to had disappeared as we danced the night away to the classics and caught up with all those family members and friends that have seem to have fallen through the cracks of our busy lives.
Which brings us to the whole point of this posting and all those to follow. Life moves so quickly...Too quickly to be honest. We are hoping this blog will allow everyone, near and far, to stay current with all the events to come in the very new life of Pete and Marci Gawkowski.
Our love to all! Enjoy!!
